Sayali Gurav

Sailee was born with neonatal meningitis and recurrent convulsions for 5-6 days post birth having had hypoxic, anoxic damage to the brain turned out to be a quadriplegic CP child. 

Following is an account of observation made by Sayali's parents over the years while being treated with VASA CONCEPT

2010

  • Jul - Oct

    Visible Progress

    • Since she was put on diet and was only on fruits, the stickiness in her mouth has reduced.
    • Though she has lost some weight as a result of being only on fruits, her energy and strength has improved.
    • She is passing stools twice a day.
    • Her understanding has improved a lot.  She is following verbal commands. 
    • If we tell her to shake hands, she does it.
    • If we tell her to kiss us, she does it.
    • If we keep something besides her, she extends her hand to hold, pick up the thing.

2011

  • Nov – Feb

    Visible Progress

    • 26/12/10: She had gone out of station for 10 days and she was very active and healthy throughout the trip.
    • When we lift her up, she tries to keeps her neck straight also tries to hold her neck and watch TV.
    • She likes to listen to the music.  If somebody stops the music or puts off the TV, she starts crying.
    • If her father whistles from outside the door and then we open the door, she understands that it is her father.
    • When instructed, she keeps her head up while doing dog to cobra.
    • She is now passing stools daily.
    • We can now make out huge change in her scoliotic spine.  It is getting back into shape (that too without any surgery).
    • The hip knee contracture has also reduced to a greater extent (not to mention without surgery) and she can keep her legs almost straight.
  • Mar - Jul

    Visible Progress

    • She can understand everything that we are talking.
    • Her frequency of fever, cough, cold has reduced remarkably.  She has not got any of these since last two months.  She used to get an episode of cough, cold, fever during every rainy season.
    • Her skin texture has improved a lot.  There was lot of blackness on the spine, which has reduced to a great extent now.  The shape of her spine has improved.
    • She is trying to come back in horse posture from the cobra posture.
    • She doesn’t fall sick at all.
    • The flexion contracture in her legs has reduced to a greater extent.
    • In sitting posture she lifts her head well.

     

    She has got fracture of femur and has been advised immobilization and necessary treatment.
